Rated P for Parent Approved

It’s almost your child’s birthday and they’ve come to you with a list of video games they want you to buy for their 13th. You begin scrolling through the list, “Ok... Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, Battlefield…” Wait a second, these aren’t rated T for Teens.

Your child loves video games but you aren’t comfortable with them playing those mature shooters. Your child also doesn’t want to play Farmville or Mario for the rest of their teenage years. So how do you find a game they want to play but also contains content suited for young gamers? Here’s a list of some of our favorite Teen rated games which don’t go overboard on the mature content but will still keep your young gamer entertained.

Overwatch (Xbox One, PS4, PC)

Here’s a shooter with a playful atmosphere and fun to play with an assortment of friends. Blizzard’s vastly popular Overwatch is a perfect game for teens with its mild themes and cartoon violence.

Destiny (Xbox One, PS4)

Destiny is another popular shooter with adventurous undertones. With mild animated violence, Destiny serves as a strong substitute for some of those more violent and gory mature rated shooters.

Batman: Arkham Series (Xbox One, PS4, PC)

The Batman: Arkham series features four separate games revolving around our favorite caped crusader. Exhibiting your usual comic violence, the Arkham series is great game for those wanting to experience a solid super hero game with content suitable for teens.

Star Wars Battlefront (Xbox One, PS4, PC)

Another shooter, this time emulating the Star Wars universe. Again, a popular multiplayer game with similar mechanics to other shooters but without the mature content. Star Wars has always been a vastly popular franchise with content suited for most teen gamers.
